Sharing Resources and Information

The network pursues its priorities through a series of working groups that form and evolve over time. The First Steps Info Hub is focused on creating opportunities for service providers to share information about their programs with one another. To date, the group has developed a regional resource guide and hosted a series of Meet Yourself sessions.

Meet Yourself Sessions

After studying a variety of strategies for sharing information among and between agencies, the Info Hub Working Group resolved to create opportunities where service providers could meet face to face and build the trust so essential to community work. Held throughout the region, Meet Yourself sessions feature short “lightning round” talks from organizational leaders followed by table conversation and networking. Lightning round speakers have addressed topics like kindergarten readiness, enrichment activities, trauma-informed care, nutrition, special education, and healthcare.

Participants at each Meet Yourself Session receive a binder with resources on area agencies, and are encouraged to attend multiple sessions throughout the NRV to expand their network of relationships and better serve their clients.  In 2018, over 100 individuals representing dozens of agencies attended a Meet Yourself Session.
