Our Aging in Place Work to Date

  • The Lifespan Friendly Homes Program launched and provided home and energy efficiency modifications to 24 low-income older homeowners, with the help of a $84,000 grant from Partners for Places, an initiative of the Funders Network for Smart Growth and Sustainable Communities.

  • The Old School at Prices Fork includes 16 housing units for older adults in addition to serving as a local foods hub. CFNRV is both a funder and member of the project’s leadership team.

  • In 2016, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the CFNRV for our Aging in Place work as
one of ten nationwide recipients of the HUD Secretary’s Award for Public-Philanthropic Partnerships!

  • The NRV Timebank website launched and now offers a system for giving and receiving volunteer time with fellow community members. Members can create an account and then post skills they are willing to share and the help they need. CFNRV serves as both a funder and member of the NRV Timebank leadership team.

  • The AIC Team developed a comprehensive Aging in Place workbook designed to help individuals form a plan for staying in their homes and in their communities for as long as possible. Access the workbook and its supporting materials on this page.
