Don Michelsen Administrative Endowment: Provides annual funding to meet Community Foundation operational costs with a goal of self-sufficiency. In memory of Don Michelsen, founding board member for the CFNRV.

BelleBend Fund: Provides grants to improve, support, survey, and enhance the lives and educations of the very youngest citizens of Giles County and their families – prenatally through kindergarten – with particular emphasis on those living in poverty.

Blue Roads Education Fund (Lee & Patti Talbot): Provides grants to improve global competencies and foster innovation among teachers and school leaders in rural communities in Southwestern Virginia through customized, professional learning.

Braden-Galbraith Fund (John & Marilyn Galbraith): Supports general charitable purposes addressing the immediate basic needs of NRV residents, with a preference for programs in Giles County.

Cabell & Shirley Brand & SEEDS Student Fellowship & Mini-Grant Fund (Cabell & Shirley Brand, & Mike Rosenzweig): Provides grants of fellowships to high school and college students to encourage and facilitate the study, research, and development of solutions to social and environmental issues such as recycling, education, hunger, land use, homelessness, biodiversity, and health care in Southwest Virginia. This includes, but is not limited to, the VA Vital Signs region.

Chachra Family Cultural Fund: Promotes understanding of the culture of India by supporting cultural activities such as workshops, readings, movies, festivals, concerts, fireworks, and dance.

Children’s Shelter Home Endowment Fund: Supports charities that assist children in need.

Chris Thompson Family Endowment: Supports general charitable purposes in the New River Valley.

Ellenbogen Fund: Provides support to the University Bridge Program of Engineers in Action and to the Bridges to Prosperity Program for a period of ten years, after which time the fund will support charitable programs in the New River Valley focused on education and/or healthcare.

Endowment for Floyd County: Supports NRV charities with a focus on Floyd County.

Endowment for Giles County: Supports nonprofit work in Giles County.

New River Valley Fund for Animals (Chris Thompson): Supports charitable organizations or agencies in the NRV for companion animal welfare programs.

Nicholson Family Fund: Provides grants to enhance the well-being and improve the quality of life of children in Radford and the neighboring counties of Montgomery, Pulaski, Floyd, and Giles. Supports social, ethical, educational, recreational, and health programs or those simple pleasures that bring comfort, security, joy, and smiles to children.

North Family Fund: Supports charitable organizations that help single, head-of-household families – especially those of Hispanic origin – in need.

Piscura Family Endowed Fund: Supports qualified charitable organizations in the NRV and elsewhere that are engaged in protecting the environment, education, and gun control.

Recognition Research Foundation: Supports general charitable purposes.

Robert & Emily Stuart Grassroots Leadership Development Fund: Supports grassroots leadership development in the New River Valley.

Robert E. & Nadine J. Newcomb Memorial Fund – The Parenting Skills Fund: Supports charities that teach parenting skills, especially to disadvantaged parents of pre-school aged children.

Rosina & Dean Carter Fund for the Visual Arts: Supports charitable organizations that engage in, educate, or promote the field of visual arts.

Smart Beginnings NRV Charitable Fund: Supports programs to improve kindergarten readiness and early educational success by supporting quality educational and developmental opportunities in the New River Valley for children and their families, prenatally through early elementary school.

Shuler Family Reading Fund: Supports New River Valley charitable organizations that provide literacy services.

Stewards of Nature Fund: Supports natural resource and wildlife conservation, environmental health and stewardship, conservation education, and related fields.

Stoop Fund (Ellen Ryan): Supports general charitable purposes.

Susan Garrison Memorial Fund (Lisa Barroso & friends): Promotes and supports environmental awareness, sustainability, and/or community beautification in the New River Valley.

Talbot Family Fund: Supports general charitable purposes with awards to organizations such as the Free Clinic of the New River Valley, the Interfaith Food Pantry located at Blacksburg Baptist Church, the Community Foundation of the New River Valley, and the Montgomery County Christmas Store.

Todd Family Fund: Supports agencies including faith-based organizations in Grayson County; the City of Galax, Virginia; and the New River Valley for general charitable purposes.

Virle & Al Payne Family Fund: Supports general charitable purposes.

Warren Lloyd Holtzman Seed Grants Fund: To provide scholarships and for general charitable purposes.

Walking With Fund (Friends & family of William & Loreta Walker): Supports children at Blacksburg Middle School by partnering with the school administration to identify opportunities that ensure low-income students can fully participate academically and socially in the life of the school. Also supports projects that celebrate the many backgrounds and cultures represented at the school to ensure all students feel included. Provides seed grants encouraging, supporting, and recognizing innovation, research, and upward mobility in the areas of small business development, human potential advancement, nurturing grassroots community-based programs, and expansion of the free market economy of knowledge and expertise.

Wellness Fund (John & Elizabeth Bush): Promotes wellness in the New River Valley.

Winters Family Endowment Fund: Provides annual funding to the Intellectual Disabilities Agency of the New River Valley (aka Leisure Directions) and provides funding for the personal and educational needs of persons with intellectual disabilities.

Worthington-Dolloff Cancer Treatment Assistance Fund: Supports cancer treatment for needy patients in the NRV.

Wythe County United Legacy Fund: Supports qualified, charitable health and human service organizations serving Wythe County, Virginia, including but not limited to those partner organizations formerly supported by the United Way of Wythe County and programs offered by the Community Foundation of the New River Valley benefitting Wythe County charitable organizations, their leaders, and the individuals they serve.

Young Women’s Life Experiences Fund: Supports charities that help young girls and women under the age of 20 that need financial assistance to participate in life experiences that are conducted, sponsored, or associated with a charitable organization or agency.

Field-of-interest funds support particular interest areas, specific program initiatives, causes, or geographic areas as established by the donor.

4-17 Fund (The Robert & Debbie Piscura Family of Draper, VA): Supports charitable work for the care and support of the New River Valley community spirit that arose to meet the tragic shootings at VT on April 16, 2007.

Andy & Susan Morikawa Capacity Building Fund: Supports programs that build the capacity of charitable NRV organizations to meet the critical needs of the community in a manner that is sustainable.

Carolyn & Donald Rude Family Fund: Supports general charitable purposes addressing the current and evolving needs of Virginia’s New River Valley, with a preference for supporting vulnerable and less fortunate people. Priorities include food security, healthcare (including mental health), children, and affordable housing; improving the quality of the environment; and educational opportunities for students and teachers in public schools.

Cox Family Trust: Supports general charitable purposes addressing the current and evolving needs of the New River Valley, with a preference for programs that provide for assistance to families of incarcerated individuals, reentry of ex-offenders, housing, food access, healthcare, clothing, and other basic human needs of less fortunate populations.

Dan & Beverly Fleming Family Fund: Supports the Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley, the Women’s Resource Center of the New River Valley, the Head Start program at New River Community Action, and other qualified, charitable organizations supporting and advancing education in Virginia’s New River Valley.

David & Lillian Francis Charitable Endowment: Supports New River Valley charitable organizations and agencies that serve the needs of alcoholics and their families, including the education of their children.

Earl Vest & Mamie Phillips Vest Unrestricted Endowment: Supports the mission of The Community Foundation of the New River Valley, and for the betterment for Floyd County.

Friends of Huckleberry Trail Fund: Provides grants to charitable organizations working in the areas of outdoor recreation, public health, and/or natural resources in the NRV (with a preference for Montgomery County and projects related to the Huckleberry Trail). Also awards scholarships to NRV students pursuing a post-secondary degree at a two or four-year college or university in Virginia in the areas of outdoor recreation, public health, and/or natural resources.

Friends of Stadium Woods Endowment: Supports educational, recreational, and research activities in Stadium Woods, a rare old growth forest predominantly white oak urban forest located in Blacksburg, Virginia; and for educational, recreational, research and preservation activities related to forestland in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Fund for Equity & Compassion (Molly McClintock & Irene Peterson): Supports general charitable purposes in the New River Valley, with a preference for programs and organizations working to advance equity, hunger relief, justice, literacy, and women.

General Endowment Fund: Supports all Foundation fields of interest at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

Highlands Fund: Supports scholarships to students pursuing a postsecondary degree at a two- or four-year college or university in a science-related field of study; supports initiatives of the Community Foundation of the New River Valley; and provides grants to charitable organizations in Virginia’s New River Valley.

Home – Hunger – Health Fund (C.Y. & Carole Davis): Supports organizations providing for the health and well-being of individuals and families in the New River Valley. Grants may support basic human needs including, but not limited to, access to shelter, food, and healthcare.

Janice Woodard Endowment Fund: Provides grants to programs and organizations that support low income and/or underserved families in the New River Valley.

Jim & Sue McAlister Family Fund: Supports charitable organizations providing affordable healthcare in the New River Valley as well as those addressing hunger such as, but not limited to, food pantries, area food banks, and feeding programs. Established in memory of Jim’s mother, Peggy McAlister of Wytheville, as well as Sue’s mother, Mattie Hall of Dublin.

Joe & Margot Thompson Unrestricted Charitable Endowment: Supports general charitable purposes addressing the current and evolving needs of the New River Valley, with a preference for programs that provide for the housing, food access, healthcare, education, clothing, reentry of ex-offenders, and other basic human needs of vulnerable or less fortunate populations.

Loving Care Fund: Supports children and families and provides support to the Community Foundation’s operations.

Luba Fabrycky Memorial Endowment Fund (Wolter Fabrycky): Supports general charitable purposes including, but not limited to, programs and activities for the education of children with emphasis on children of disadvantaged families.

Mary Jean & John L. Brown Endowment: Supports programs and organizations serving the New River Valley and working in the fields of health and food assistance.

Matthew Allen Special Memorial Fund (Katherine Allen): Supports programs benefitting the social, emotional, and mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through grants to qualified, charitable organizations in the New River Valley. Preference shall be given to those programs or organizations that pursue and/or promote social justice through diverse and inclusive action.

Passion to Progress: The Drenan Dudley Endowed Fund (Jack, Larkin, & Drenan Dudley): Builds the capacity of qualified charitable organizations in the New River Valley, their employees, and volunteers to transform a cause or an idea into demonstrable outcomes benefitting the community.

Paws & Claws Endowment Fund (Lynda Chamowitz & Joan Gotthardt): Supports animal welfare in Montgomery County.

Peer Segelke Memorial Fund (The family & friends of Peer Segelke): Supports organizations focused on environmental sustainability and natural resource conservation who are participating in the GiveLocalNRV Giving Day or can otherwise demonstrate broad financial and/or in-kind support from community members.

RBN Inc. Educational Opportunity Fund: Supports qualified educational or charitable organizations providing educational instruction and tutoring, with strong preference for programs providing instruction in basic literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL) to immigrants, their children, and grandchildren; and for general charitable purposes. Preference shall be given to organizations from the following counties and cities in the following order of priority: Grayson County, City of Galax, Floyd County, Craig County, Patrick County, Montgomery County (Auburn and Eastern Montgomery strands only), Carroll County, and the City of Radford.

Sarah Lee Alderson Memorial Fund: Supports general charitable purposes with an emphasis on addressing community needs and priorities as determined by the Foundation.

Shirley Van Dresser Guidance Fund (The Daughters of Shirley Van Dresser): Supports the programs, activities or student/s individual need as determined by guidance counselors working with students in New River Valley public school systems.

Silver Care Endowment Fund (Lynda Chamowitz & Joan Gotthardt): Supports the needs of senior citizens in the New River Valley.

Virgil Speaks Fund (Suzi Gablik): Supports charitable organizations such as “What’s on Stage”, a program at Harding Avenue Elementary School; The Lyric Theatre; the Community Foundation of the New River Valley; and Beans and Rice.

A. Phillip Meadows Memorial Scholarship Fund (Dreama & Logan Meadows): Provides scholarships for undergraduate work at a college or university to high school students graduating from a NRV high school or Hinton High School, WV.

Amber D. Lutz Memorial Scholarship Fund (George & Karen Rain Lipson): Provides scholarships to female students from Floyd County High School to pursue a degree in a math or science-related field.

Adrienne Marie Rhudy Memorial Scholarship Fund (Dan & Ann Rhudy): Provides a scholarship to a two- or four-year college or university for students attending NRV high schools with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 who demonstrate the ability to overcome adversity and be strengthened by the experience.

Allan & Marie Mandelstamm Fund: The Allan Mandelstamm Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to NRV high school graduates or students with a GED who show financial need and earn at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. The Marie Mandelstamm Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Eastmont, or Radford students pursuing college degrees in the sciences. Students must demonstrate a 3.0 GPA and financial need.

Auxiliary of Radford Community Hospital/CNRVMC Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to pursue a career in nursing (registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or certified nursing assistant); in a health-related field such as, but not limited to, radiology technician, laboratory technician, and respiratory therapist; or any health profession providing hands-on patient care.

Benjamin Eiss Memorial Fund (Norman & Nancy Eiss): Provides scholarships to graduating seniors from all New River Valley high schools with demonstrated financial need.

BHS National Honor Society Legacy Scholarship (BHS Chapter of the National Honor Society): Provides scholarships to graduating students from Blacksburg High School with a minimum grade point average of 3.2, a strong track record of leadership and service to the school and/or community, and a strong desire to continue that level of service during college to attend any two- or four-year college or university.

Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad Memorial Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to active members of the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad in good standing with a minimum of one year of service who are pursuing a post-secondary degree at a two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Paramedic.

Blue Collar Scholarship Fund (Family & friends of Kent Quesenberry): Provides scholarships to students in the New River Valley from blue-collar families defined as parents or immediate family members working in industries such as, but not limited to, all construction and building trades, maintenance, skilled labor, commercial trucking, automotive repair, and manufacturing workers; to pursue a post-secondary degree at a 2 or 4-year college, university, trade, or technical school. Selection criteria include demonstrated financial need and a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Casey Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund (Pat Jones & family): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students from Blacksburg High School with a preference for students pursuing a degree in a health profession.

Chris Dudley Scholarship Fund (Jack & Larkin Dudley): Provides scholarships to graduating students from Blacksburg High School that demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, with preference given to students playing on the men’s or women’s Blacksburg High School soccer teams.

Citizens Scholarship Fund (Citizens Telephone Cooperative): Provides scholarships to students from Floyd County (including students from Floyd County High School, Springhouse Community School, or home-schooled students) to attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade or technical school.

Constance & Horst Moehring Scholarship Fund (Estate of Constance Moehring): Provides scholarships to students pursuing a degree in science, technology, or engineering at Virginia Tech.

Cranwell Family Foundation Scholarship for Rural Students (The Cranwell Family Foundation): Provides scholarships to students pursuing a degree at Virginia Tech who have a demonstrated financial need. Applicants must reside in Southwest VA, including the NRV and localities further southwest, with preference for those from Richlands High School, the town of Richlands in general, or elsewhere in Tazewell County, VA.

Dana R. & Marilyn Spencer Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to graduates of Blacksburg High School pursuing a degree in nursing, medicine, medical research, dietetics, or related field. Selection criteria shall include a minimum grade point average of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale, demonstrated financial need, evidence of a strong commitment to education and the community, and evidence of employment at some point during the applicant’s high school career.

David Surface & Robert Brown Scholarship: Provides scholarships to scholarships to Montgomery County students enrolled in career and technical education classes focused on the trades during high school and who intend to pursue a degree and a career in the trades or a construction-related field at a 2 or 4-year college, university, trade, or technical school. Preference is given to Blacksburg High School graduates. Selection criteria include demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Dennis Stauffer Memorial Scholarship Fund (Dean & Bennie Stauffer): Provides scholarships to students from Blacksburg High School who have been active in the high school marching band, flag corps, or symphonic band to attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school.

Diana Love Legacy Instrumental Music Scholarship Fund (James F. Johnson & Janet M. Johnson, James M. Shuler & Margaret F. Shuler, Paula Wilder): Provides scholarships to graduating Blacksburg High School students pursuing a career in instrumental music.

Domermuth Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to graduating high school students or other, nontraditional students from Giles County to attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school.

Doris Huff Elliott Business Excellence Scholarship Fund (Wayne Elliott): Provides scholarships to graduating students from Christiansburg High School who have taken courses within the CHS business program to attend any two or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school.

Earl Vest & Mamie Phillips Vest Scholarship Fund: Provide scholarships to graduating students from Floyd County High School in Floyd, Virginia to attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school in the United States of America. Scholarship selection criteria shall include demonstrated financial need.

Eric E. Sutphin Memorial Scholarship for Children of NRV Law Enforcement Officers (Tamara Sutphin): Provides scholarships to students who have a parent or guardian who is a law enforcement officer serving in the NRV, with preference given to Montgomery County, to attend any college, university, or accredited vocational or technical program.

Evelyn Rutrough Memorial Scholarship Fund (Virginia Rebekah Lodge #77): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students from Floyd County to pursue studies in teacher education or nursing.

James E. & Kate H. Board Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to graduates of Check Elementary School and Floyd County High School to attend any two- or four-year college or university.

Jane Ann Wells Scholarship Fund (Charles Gregory): Provides scholarships to students from Blacksburg High School in Blacksburg, Virginia to pursue a postsecondary degree at a 2 or 4-year college, university, trade, or technical school. Scholarship selection criteria shall include demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to students who attended Prices Fork Elementary School and/or those pursuing a career in education.

Jim Gwazdauskas Memorial Scholarship Fund (Frank Gwazdauskas): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students on the Blacksburg High School men’s soccer team displaying integrity of character, initiative, and leadership.

Jo Ann Slate Smith Scholarship Fund (Pulaski County School Board): Provides scholarships to students from Pulaski County High School pursuing a degree in math education or a STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field.

Josephine D. Shotts Memorial Scholarship Fund (James Shotts & Family): Provides scholarships to students residing in Southwest Virginia, including the New River Valley and localities further south and west, to pursue a post-secondary degree in nursing or in a related health profession at any two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED. Scholarship selection criteria shall include documented financial need and average or above average academic ability.

Juanita Shelor Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund (George & Lois Hall): Provide scholarships to students who are pursuing a higher education in business or education, with a preference for students from Auburn High School.

June and Joseph Wang Memorial Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to Blacksburg High School students who, like June and Joe, are driven by curiosity and a love of learning. Selection criteria shall also seek students who demonstrate the qualities that June Liang Wang instilled in her students including scholastic achievement, community involvement, leadership, and global awareness.

Kalvi Scholarship Fund (Harish Karunakaran): Provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors or students currently enrolled in a college or university to attend any two- or four-year college or university. Scholarship criteria shall include a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, with preference given to applicants who are actively involved in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities.

Lambda Horizon Scholarship Fund (LGBTQ+ Caucus at Virginia Tech): Provides scholarships to students who have made contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community through leadership, service, volunteering, and/or research.

Larry Turman Memorial Scholarship Fund (Charles Turman & Thornton Turman): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students from Floyd County High School to attend a two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school.

Laura J. Pynn Scholarship Fund (CFNRV Board of Directors): Provides scholarships to New River Valley students with demonstrated financial need.

Lineweaver Family Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to students studying Dairy Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, who have demonstrated financial need and academic performance sufficient to progress through the undergraduate program.

Living4Bri Scholarship Fund (Tracey Linkous & Paulette Wiley Dawson): Provides scholarships to students from Christiansburg High School to pursue a degree in nursing.

Marcus Allen Ford Memorial Scholarship Fund (Waverly & Donna Ford): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students from Christiansburg High School to attend any two- or four-year college or university in Virginia. Students should exemplify the qualities of Marcus Allen Ford including love and family, a friend to all, exceptional academic abilities, outstanding leadership, and good sportsmanship in the home, at school, and on the playing field.

Mary Ann King Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund (Karen Hale & Leesa Meador): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students on the Floyd County High School women’s basketball team demonstrating integrity of character, initiative, leadership, good sportsmanship, being a team player, and love of basketball.

Morrow-Stevens Foundation Scholarship: Provides scholarships to deserving and dedicated students in Southwest Virginia pursuing a college education at a 4-year public college or university in Virginia. Selection criteria include documented financial need and a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Muffo Family Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to graduating high school students, or other, nontraditional students residing in the New River Valley to attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school.

Gary Mullins Memorial Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to students from Giles County, Virginia to pursue a post-secondary degree in a trade at a 2 or 4-year college, university, trade, or technical school. Preference is given to graduates of Narrows High School.

Plummer Family Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to graduating high school students from Grayson County High School and Galax City High School with financial need, a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to 4.0, and good moral character.

Ray E. & Mary B. Epperly Family Fund: Provides scholarships for students of Eastern Montgomery High School with average grades.

Raymond M. & Edith H. Ingram Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Giles County High School and Narrows High School. Scholarship recipients shall demonstrate good moral character with demonstrated ability and desire to further their education. Preference is given to students with disabilities, particularly those with visual impairment.

RBN Inc. Appreciation Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to students who are immigrants to the United States or are the children or grandchildren of immigrants, provided that such children or grandchildren are born after 1950. Scholarship recipients may attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school. Preference shall be given to applicants from the following counties and cities in the following order of priority: Grayson County, City of Galax, Floyd County, Craig County, Patrick County, Montgomery County (Auburn High School students only), Carroll County, and the City of Radford. Selection criteria for scholarship recipients shall include evidence of a strong work ethic and demonstrated financial need.

Simón-Flora-Grohs Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to students in the New River Valley to pursue a post-secondary degree at any two or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school. Scholarship selection criteria include a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference is given to students from disadvantaged and/or minority populations, and students with disabilities regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual or gender identity, or immigration status. Preference is also given to students from Pulaski County. Documented financial need and service in the community are preferred but not required to receive a scholarship.

T. Scott Eaton Scholarship Fund (John & Peggy Eaton): Provides scholarships to graduating high school students that pursue post-high school studies in the theater or fine arts. The scholarships shall be awarded to students with average grades who graduate from public schools located in the New River Valley.

Teel Family Scholarship Fund: Established in memory of Gene A. “Bull” Teel, Auburn High School Class of 1970, this fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors of Auburn High School in Riner, Virginia who are furthering their studies at a two or four-year college, university, trade or technical school. Preference is given to student athletes enrolled in agricultural coursework at the high school level, or to student athletes who display an interest in agriculture, evidenced by activities such as, but not limited to, membership in Future Farmers of America (FFA) or Montgomery County 4-H.

Terry Helms Memorial Scholarship Fund (Family of Terry Helms): Provides scholarships to students from Blacksburg High School pursuing a post-secondary degree at any two- or four-year college or university in math or a related field such as statistics, engineering, or math education.

VFW Post 5311 Legacy Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to individuals pursuing a post-secondary degree at an accredited institution of higher education, vocational or technical school. Members of VFW Post 5311 as well as graduating high school students from Christiansburg High School, Blacksburg High School, and Auburn High School meeting the selection criteria are eligible to apply. Scholarship selection criteria shall include demonstrated financial need. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or the child, stepchild, or grandchild thereof; an honorably discharged veteran or the child, stepchild or grandchild thereof; and the child, stepchild, or grandchild of a currently serving member of the United Stated Armed Forces to include active duty, reserves, or National Guard are given priority consideration.

VMCVM Class of 1990 Shelter Veterinarian Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to students at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine to pursue a doctor of veterinary medicine degree with the intention of practicing shelter medicine. Scholarship selection criteria shall include demonstrated financial need.

Virginia Tech Women’s Club Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to rising junior and senior class women at Virginia Tech who have demonstrated excellence in academics and service.

Virginia Whitaker Memorial Scholarship Fund/Eggleston Community Fund: Provides scholarships to graduates of Giles High School to pursue a post-secondary degree in education at a two- or four-year college or university. Scholarship selection criteria shall include demonstrated financial need, a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and evidence of extracurricular activities and/or community service. Preference shall be given to students from Eggleston, Virginia.

Warren Lloyd Holtzman Freedom Scholarship Fund: Provides grants to offer opportunity and recognition, to encourage innovation, and to acknowledge distinction by providing scholarships to deserving high school students to pursue higher education.

W.F. Teel Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships to students from Auburn High School to attend any two- or four-year college, university, trade, or technical school.

Williamsburg Consort Symphonic Band Scholarship Fund (Darrell & Sally Craig): Provides scholarships to graduates of Floyd County High School who plan to continue their participation in a college or university band or other school-sponsored musical organization at a two- or four-year college or university. Eligible students must have participated in band at Floyd County High School.

Wings Fund (David & Marilyn Hutchins): Provides scholarships for New River Valley high school graduates and provides support for the development of the CFNRV scholarship program.

Woodrow & Elma Turman Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships for graduating students from Floyd County High School to attend any trade or technical school, college, or university with financial need who have demonstrated the ability and commitment to better themselves by continuing their education.
