First Steps: The New River Valley’s Early Childhood Education and Development Network is teaming up with ChildCare Aware of Virginia and the Community Foundation of the New River Valley (CFNRV) to host a childcare job fair. Childcare centers from throughout the New River Valley will be on hand to share information about open teaching and support positions, with the opportunity to submit an application and learn more about a career in early childhood education. Participating providers include:

• Blue Mountain School
• Grace a Child/Adventure Club
• Head Start
• Heart-n-Hand Early Learning Center
• Kids & Co.
• KinderCare (Radford and Blacksburg centers)
• Pathways Early Learning Center
• Rainbow Riders Childcare Center
• Virginia Tech Child Development Center for Learning and Research (VTCDCLR)

Light refreshments will be provided along with door prizes. In addition to talking to childcare providers about job opportunities, attendees can learn about other resources to support educators and families including ChildCare Aware’s Virginia Childcare and ECE Job Hub and the childcare subsidy program for families. A representative from New River Community College will also be on hand to share information about early childhood education certificate and degree programs. Plus, attendees can explore the exhibits at Wonder Universe: A Children’s Museum. There is no RSVP required, simply come by anytime between 5pm and 7pm on June 14th!
